Frequently Asked Questions

What Are The Most Important Benefits of The Ozorinse System?

  1. Years of scientific research and development led to the invention of the patented VeriPure™ technology which kills germs and disinfects while providing safe and wonderful tasting drinking water.
  2. Ozorinse disinfects surfaces, such as cutting boards, sinks, dishes, baby bottles, toothbrushes and many items that are subject to contamination. Kitchen sponges and dishrags are particularly susceptible to harboring and spreading pathogens and germs. Proper rinsing with Ozorinse water will greatly reduce or eliminate exposure.
  3. Rinsing fruits, vegetables, produce and meats will minimize exposure to microbiological contamination. Rinsing with Ozorinse will prolong the shelf life of your food preventing the spread of harmful contamination, such as Staphylococcus, E. Coli and Salmonella. The ozone leaves no chemical residue on such surfaces because it reverts to its original oxygen form very quickly.
  4. Ozorinse is a responsible and cost effective alternative to bottled water. Ozorinse produces the same high quality water using filtration and ozone disinfection similar to that in a commercial water bottling plant for just pennies per gallon without waste or harming the environment.

Why is Ozorinse Superior to Other Types of Point of Use Water Treatment?

Ozorinse offers benefits never before available with any other system since it combines state-of-the-art filtration with patented disinfecting power of ozone for the purest drinking water and for controlling the spread of unhealthy micro-organisms in your kitchen, home or medical environment.

Ozorinse produces pure water at a constant rate of ½ to 1½ gallons per minute without any waste product. Standard filtration can allow micro-organisms to pass through while super fine micron filtration may filter out cysts but can miss some bacteria and viruses. Reverse Osmosis produces a limited amount of water per day and wastes significant amounts of water flushing out contaminants.

R.O. also can allow bacteria and viruses to pass into the drinking water and can produce a flat, "dead" tasting water. Ultraviolet light eliminates some bacteria so long as the bulb is at full strength but does not provide residual disinfection protection downstream. None of the common water treatment systems can deliver the benefits of Ozorinse.

How Does The Ozorines System Treat Water For Drinking?

Ozorinse provides two levels and types of filtration and then injects powerful ozone gas as a final stage disinfectant which ensures flavorful and microbiologically safe water.

  1. As waster passes through the first particulate filter dirt, rust and other particulates from the water are removed.
  2. Water is then filtered a second time when it passes through a micron carbon block filter which removes cysts, chlorine, organics and other impurities.
  3. In the final stage, ozone injection destroys micro-organisms (if present) and adds a high level of flavorful oxygen to the water.

How Much Ozone Is Injected Into The Water?

The ozone level in the water at one half (½) gallon per minute is between .4 and .15 parts per million. As a form of comparison, this is the mid-range of ozone required by the FDA and state health departments for disinfection in bottled water plants.

Is The Ozone Safe to Drink?

Yes, definitely. The ozone turns back into oxygen very quickly. To give an idea of how much ozone is in the water, .25 parts per million is the equivalent to one inch in 64 miles. The ozone in the water is well within the safe guidelines for ozone established by the FDA Bottled Water Regulations. Ozone was first discovered in 1840 and has been used to treat municipal drinking water since 1905.

Does The Ozone Affect The Taste of The Water?

Only in a positive way. There is a slight aroma of ozone, much like the smell of fresh rain water, when Ozorinse water is consumed instantly. Extensive taste tests have shown that people with very sensitive taste thresholds do not detect any ozone taste in the water. In fact, due to the high oxygen level in the water, people report a fresh flavor and some have compared it to drinking from a mountain stream near a waterfall.

Can Ozorinse Water Be Used For Washing Hands and Face?

Yes. Ozone is a powerful eliminator of Staph and other germs common to the human skin surface. The hands or face should be washed as usual first with warm soap and water, rinsed with warm water to remove soap, then rinsed thoroughly for at least one minute with the Ozorinse water. The longer the ozone rinse, the greater the reduction in skin-borne micro-organisms.

If Ozone Will Attack Germs In The Water, Why Doesn't It Affect People's Mouths?

The concentration of ozone dissolved in the water is far too low to impact the mucus membrane of the mouth, throat or stomach. While there is enough ozone to impact bacteria in the mouth when first consumed, the water undergoes a rapid temperature change causing the ozone to revert to oxygen very rapidly. By drinking and flushing your mouth with Ozorinse, you gain all the benefits of killing germs in your mouth without the harsh taste or feel of mouthwash.

Is The Ozone Gas Released Into The Air By Ozorinse Treated Water Harmful?

No. Ozone is classified as an irritating gas only in high concentrations. The EPA has established strict guidelines limiting .1 parts per million in the air for eight hours of continuous exposure. Only a small portion of the ozone in the treated water is released momentarily into the air. If all the ozone in one gallon of water were released into one cubic foot of air, the level would amount to 0.03 parts per million and it would revert to oxygen within a few minutes. In actual usage, the amount of ozone released is much smaller. The small amount released actually will serve as a slight room deodorizer, helping minimize cooking smells and sink odor from garbage disposals.

What Is The Recommended Method For Using Ozorinse For Bottled Water?

Select a container that is food grade quality, such as glass or plastic. Left over bottled water containers are perfect. Never use a container that has contained toxic substances, such as cleaning agents, gasoline, pesticides, etc. Rinse the bottle with freshly ozonated water at least twice to minimize contamination. Fill the bottle to within one or two inches of the top and place the cap on it.

The ozone from your Ozorinse will seek out and attack any microbiological contamination left in the bottle and bottle cap. The water from your Ozorinse is ozonated at a rate that meets FDA specifications for bottled water. After "scouting out" microbial contamination in your container of water, the ozone will revert to its original form, pure oxygen, giving your bottled water a fresh, flavorful quality your whole family will enjoy.

How Is Ozorinse Used For Sanitizing Surfaces?

The Ozorinse unit is designed as a sanitizing rinse. Rinse or place items under the cold water ozone rinse from the Ozorinse for at least 30 to 60 seconds. It is important that the ozonated water flood over every part of the exposed surfaces to ensure that bacteria is killed.

How Is Ozorinse Used For Sanitizing Foods?

The best method for sanitizing foods is to place items in a bowl and flood with ozonated water for one to two minutes. It is recommended that the items be rubbed with the hands to make sure all crevices are contacted thoroughly. It is very important to make certain that all dirt is removed since dirt can act as a barrier under which bacteria can hide.

Can Ozorinse Ozonated Water Be Used On Household Plants?

Definitely. Ozonated water is being used commercially to enhance plant growth on potatoes and other vegetables. Though it is not completely understood why ozonated water exerts such a powerful stimulation to plant growth, one theory is that the super oxygenation of the plant roots increases the nitrogen uptake of the plant. Another theory is that the ozone eliminates pest microbes around the root system, so the plant does not have to expend energy fighting them and turns that energy into fuller growth.
